Rylan stopped in front of a one-story Chinese restaurant [I say that because the one I'm used to has two] and held the door open for her.

Rylan followed her in, and without a word, the waitress there recognized him and waved him over toward a table.

Ryuk glared at her, his usual comical demeanor fading into a loathing, full-Shinigami glare. "I'm not a dog that relies upon you pitiful humans for everything," he said. "Do not dare write me off as such, Lily Harding."

Rylan waited as the waitress approached, and he smiled. She's efficient; awesome. He read off his order to her and waited for Maria.
